    Student Admission

     

    Students are admitted to the Program through a selection process performed by a Selection Board.

     

    The selection process of the Master’s Degree is constituted by:

     

    A) English Reading Comprehension Test (Eliminatory)

    This test is aimed at the skills of the candidate to read and interpret a text in English language. The test contains a text and interpretation questions to be answered in Portuguese. English language native candidates can request dismissal of the English test.

    B) Knowledge Test (Eliminatory and Classificatory – Score 3)

    This test is aimed at the level and extent of knowledge of the candidate on Physiology Sciences, according to the specific bibliography informed in the Call for Admission. The test includes 10 open questions in Portuguese. The Selection Board allows English language native candidates to do the test in English.

    C) Interview (Eliminatory and Classificatory – Score 4)

    This step is aimed at the potential of candidates to develop studies on Physiological Sciences at the Master’s level, through the analysis of their experience in research activities, knowledge of the program, interest in obtaining the Master’s degree in Physiological Sciences, and capacity to understand and discuss a scientific paper in the area.

    D) Analysis of Curriculum Vitae (Classificatory – Score 3)

    This step is aimed at the academic background of the applicant quantitatively, especially experience in research (including scientific initiation research, proved by publishing and/or abstracts of papers presented in congresses or similar), internships, participation in research and extension projects etc).

     

    The selection process of the Doctorate’s Degree is constituted by:

     

    A) Knowledge Test (Eliminatory and Classificatory – Score 3)

    This test is aimed at the level and extent of knowledge of the candidate on the area of the Graduate Program. The knowledge test includes 10 open questions based on two scientific papers on the area of Physiological Sciences. The Selection Committee allows English language native candidates to do the same test in English.

    B) Interview (Eliminatory and Classificatory – Score 4)

    This step is aimed at the potential of candidates to develop studies on Physiological Sciences at the Doctoral level, through the analysis of their experience in research activities, knowledge of the program, interest in obtaining the Doctorate’s degree in Physiological Sciences and capacity to discuss a dissertation proposal on Physiological Sciences.

    C) Analysis of Curriculum Vitae (Classificatory – Score 3)

    This step is aimed at the academic background of the applicant quantitatively, especially the research experience, internships, teaching experience etc.
